The door to the principal’s office is open at all hours, although you will only find Hester at the receptionist’s desk from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is primarily where you can have private conversations with her. Though there’s an actual office in the back, it is always closed and locked.

[Maya enters the office early in the morning, likely not long after Hester has "arrived." She clears her throat politely, though there's a clear level of distrust in her eyes at this whole thing.]

I have a question, if you don't mind?

[It's the afternoon and Discord's not so much announcing himself as just sort of, ah, leaning on the receptionist's desk all casual. Looking over Hester's way with a smirk.]

So, how does this work, do I just have my people call your people to set up a meeting, or do we play it by ear?

[Hester, seated behind the high secretary's desk, looks up from the small pink compact mirror in her hand and gives Maya a friendly smile. It looks like she was in the middle of touching up her make-up in case of any visitors judging by the mirror and lip gloss wand in her other hand.]

Of course, Maya. [She carefully freshens her lip gloss before sliding it back into the tube and snapping the mirror shut.] What can I do for you?

[Hester, busily typing up something on a pink-cased laptop behind the desk, glances up from her document.]

Playing it by ear works for me. What can I do for you, Discord?

Oh, good, I don't have to worry about squeezing this into my schedule!

[He throws away a day planner that he definitely didn't have before and off screen a cat yowls, because the cliché demands it.]

Mostly I'm here to satisfy my own curiosity. I mean, unfortunate aesthetics aside, this is an impressive little operation you have going on here. Some decently middling chaos.

I don't suppose you're in a mood to share the details of how this was all thrown together?

[Her eyes narrow faintly. There's something distinctly wrong about how casual the woman is about all of this.

Nevertheless, Maya's expression flattens soon enough. She glances to a spot over Hester's shoulder.]


How permanent are our living situations? If... one sought to sleep elsewhere, would that be possible?

Tuesday Morning

[at 8 AM sharp, Salieri will show up at the Principal's Office, and politely knock on the door, waiting for permission before entering. Hello he's here to ask about supplies for short mead]

Come in! [Hester's voice rings out from behind the door and with a soft click the door audibly unlocks.]

Week 1

[Angus knocks on the door before entering (she's been polite so far) and stops a few feet from the desk.]

Did you find out what sort of wizard he is?

[This feels somehow Unsafe, but that might have more to do with the whole Everything about the situation. But he's on a mission, so Salieri pushes the door open, and steps inside.]

Good morning. I hope I'm not troubling you too early. [if nothing else, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, so he'll play polite at the moment]

Oh, of course you can sleep somewhere else! It doesn't change your assigned dorm but you're welcome to bunk with the other girls or even sleep in one of the other rooms if you want more privacy. I just can't guarantee that would be very comfortable.

Were the assignments done by design? A fun laugh to place the all-girls-school attendee in a roomof men?

[The office is a much more modern than Salieri is probably used to, with a copier machine sitting against a back wall and a small clock on the wall that reads 8 am on the dot. Hester herself has opted for wearing something a little less semi-formal than the day before, a simple black blouse with a green cardigan. She gives Salieri a smile when he comes in, setting down the black eyeliner pen she'd just been using.]

Not at all! I've always said "if you're not fifteen minutes early, consider yourself late". What can I do for you, monsieur?

[Despite being extremely wary of Hester (and more so of whomever is watching over her,) Salieri inflects a polite, mildly affable disposition]

I was hoping to inquire as to the possible procurement of brewing vessels and equipment for short mead.

No, no, no no! Not at all. [Her smile shifts to something more sympathetic.] I am sorry you ended up in a dorm full of boys, you just ended up meeting the proper criteria for that particular dorm better than the other ones.

Mead-? [She frowns a little.] Oh! Like the kind of wine you make from honey. [Hester purses her lips for a moment, tilting her head just slightly and glancing down at the open laptop behind the high front of the receptionist's desk.]

I can certainly put in a request for you but I wouldn't be able to get it until tomorrow at the earliest.

[that is...honestly way sooner and easier than Salieri was expecting] That is more than acceptable.

Criteria? We were assigned based on... traits?

[Sure, she gets being assigned with Salieri based on his success, but... She isn't sure what she has in common with a kid, a penguin, a self-described crazy person.]

Thank you for the compliment. A lot of hard work went in to making this all happen. [A smile quirks at the corner of her mouth and she stops typing, opting to instead lean her cheek onto her hand.]

But where's the fun in me spilling all our secrets on the first day?

Yes, fine, mystery, intrigue, all that. I can respect it, I suppose. I was just imprisoned in stone, so I can't complain too much.

[As far as he remembers, anyhow, but y'know. He'll still complain. Just not AS much.]

I mean, the drama already! A knife throwing act on the first day!

I did, actually. We had a long talk last night and when I asked he said he was specifically a Wizard of Order? If that makes sense.

Order of what? [They have to join some kind of society. Unless this is a rogue wizard.] Or do you mean like organizing things?

Just Order. So yes, organizing, putting things how they should be. [She shrugs her shoulder slightly.] He doesn't have an Order, like your Chaos Wizards. He just has me.
