The door to the principal’s office is open at all hours, although you will only find Hester at the receptionist’s desk from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is primarily where you can have private conversations with her. Though there’s an actual office in the back, it is always closed and locked.

Mmhmm-? [Hester looks up from her little pink laptop, a half-eaten sugar cookie hanging out of her mouth in a terrible undignified way.] Madame, wha' c'n-? [She swallows, carefully wiping away the crumbs from her cheek.] What can I do for you?

I apologize for...interrupting you, but I was wondering about procuring an item that's not here in the school? Would that be possible?

Oh no, it's fine-! [She takes a quick sip of her tea and smooths the collar of her blouse, straightening up in her chair. The whole thing is weirdly cute, like a child trying to pretend to be an adult.] I've already gotten a few things for Monsieur Salieri, I'm sure I can do the same for you.

Oh, that's wonderful! Actually, it's related to his current project-I am in need of a zither, if you know what that is?

A zither...no, I'm afraid I'm not really familiar with that. What is it?

[Hester pulls open one of the drawers of her desk and pulls out a clipboard, paper and a pencil to pass over to Sissi.]

It's an instrument that's much like a lyre, but...more like a guitar, if that makes sense. It's quite popular among the masses in my home country, and in other Germanic places. Not so much with someone of my status, normally, but my papa composes songs for it and he taught us to play it..
