The door to the principal’s office is open at all hours, although you will only find Hester at the receptionist’s desk from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is primarily where you can have private conversations with her. Though there’s an actual office in the back, it is always closed and locked.

[as she opens the door, she'll see that Salieri is bearing a tray with a bottle of sparkling cider, two glasses, and two slices of a bittersweet chocolate pie with strawberries on top.

He'll step inside, then, coming over and setting it on that corner of the raised part of her desk with the most space to ensure it doesn't topple]

I know that last time you said you weren't old enough to drink, so this time I brought something non-alcoholic.

Oh my gosh, this is so sweet of you! Any special reason or did you just feel like having an office picnic?
