The Principal's Office

The door to the principal’s office is open at all hours, although you will only find Hester at the receptionist’s desk from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is primarily where you can have private conversations with her. Though there’s an actual office in the back, it is always closed and locked.

[Huh.

Honestly, everything about this place is vaguely weird. So the feeling doesn't much concern her, so much as it sets off plenty of familiar warning sirens.


Empty then. She'll press her hand against the bottom of it then, testing the wood, and if nothing seems too strange about it, she'll move onto the next drawer.]

[No false bottom, unfortunately.

The second drawer does yeild some better results: its full of fabric.]

What kind of fabric? Color? Texture?]

[The fabric is a nice jersey cotton, pretty simple, and it's a rich emerald green.

How familiar is Cass with the costume room?]

[Don't know what a Jersey is, but this is... Nice. A pleasantly green color.

She's been in the Costume room several times over the past weeks, looking through clothes for things she can wear on a day-to-day basis. Is this costume fabric?]

[It looks like it's from one of the fabric bolts in there, yes! There also seems to be some tailor's chalk too, for fabric sketching.]

[OH.... Well. Cassandra isn't the best seamstress in the world, but she can tell what this is for.

If she were to, say, take out the fabric and look for sketching, does she find any on it?]

[She will! It's only vaguely sketched out but it looks like it could be the start of a jacket or something similar. It's...not very good, even in rough sketch form, so it's a bit hard to tell. Hester doesn't seem to exactly be artistically inclined.]

[Well, that's something they have in common then. Non-artistic people in a world of artists.

She doubts there's anything left to glean from the fabric, so she'll put it back and move onto any of the drawers that are still left.]

[Not a lot in these, unfortunately. A box of paper clips, some extra pens, a sheet of encouraging stickers with smiling apples and clouds that say "A+ Work!" and "Great Job!", a heart-shaped stress ball that looks like it's seen better days and some brown paper that looks like it was taken from the scene shop. Just some extra bits and bobs like you'd find in any old desk.]

[Fantastic. She's discovered that their Hester is trying to get through her day just like everyone else. But nothing especially worth stealing from the poor woman, so!

Time to close these drawers and try to get out of here as quietly as possible!]

[That's probably a good idea because Cass can definitely start to hear a soft click click of heels on linoleum and the sound of a doorknob turning from the closed door inside the office.]
